God Delights in You

The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. - Psalm 37:23
God hasn't forgotten you - and He isn't too busy for you. He doesn't think about you only when you come before Him in prayer, or attend church. No - God cares about you so much more than that! God loves you so much that he has worked out a plan for every detail of your life. He has directed your steps and, through His Holy Spirit, is showing you His plan for your life - a plan that covers every last detail of your existence - and delights God.

Who is Backing You?

Posted by David on September 29, 2007 at 1:29 pm

I constantly go through the day relying on my own strength and knowledge to get things done. Which most of the time seems to be enough for me to accomplish everything I need to do. After all, I have been tying my own shoes, dressing myself, and toasting toast for a long time. These are things that I don't ask others to help me with because I feel fully confident that my own abilities are enough for the job. However, my abilities aren't good enough for everything.

You see, God has a plan for each of our lives and it involves things that are way to hard for us to take on alone. While anyone can (in their own power) write a comment on this blog, moving a mountain is a little different. The things that really matter in life (i.e. the plans God has for us) are things that can't be done in our own power. They are jobs that we have to have God to accomplish.

For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.

Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord or of me His prisoner, but join with me in suffering for the gospel according to the power of God, who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity, - 2 Timothy 1:7-9

*phew... it's not up to me!

When mountains are placed in front of people that don't rely on God in their lives, they have to move them all by themselves. "Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength... ...They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary." - Isaiah 40:31 (NASB). Those that look to the God for their strength and guidance he will give the power to do what he has called us to do. It doesn't matter how strong or smart we are - God will give us the abilities we need "not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity".  God has plans that look like mountains set before us, but they aren't for us to tackle on our own.

For this reason I also suffer these things, but I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day.

Retain the standard of sound words which you have heard from me, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. - 2 Timothy 1:10-13

"My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness." So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. - 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Remind yourself, "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." - Philippians 4:13
